Tick tock for strong solutions!
If someone knows well the sound of a watch, it is none other than the brand Swatch that shook up once and for all the waters of the world watchmaking industry.
The most democratic watch in the history of fashion has never been copied by anyone and remains equally popular and innovative to this day!
The following post aims to refresh the reasons why you always smile when you see a Swatch watch around your wrist, and of course... to prepare you perfectly in case a million-dollar question arises!
1. The Swatch phenomenon - that's what we're talking about - made its appearance in 1983 as an unconventional, plastic watch with modern design and 12 different color options, consisting of only 51 (instead of 91) parts! And all this at an incredibly attractive price (their prices then did not exceed €30)!
2. In 1995, Swatch released the Solar, a watch that operated exclusively on solar power, aka solar energy.
3. Another innovation from the company was the Access, which functioned as a ski pass, not only displaying the time but also the way to the ski slopes. Shocking!
4. If you think Swatch was limited to our planet, we have news for you! In the late '90s, it traveled to the moon with the Space Shuttle Columbia on the famous wrist of Swiss astronaut Claude Nicollier.
5. After returning from space in 1997, it became a second skin for millions of brand fans, as the Skin was released, weighing only a few grams, incredibly thin, and remains an extremely popular design to this day.

6. In the year that we enjoyed the Olympic Games in our country, Swatch - once again ahead of its time - launched the Swatch Paparazzi, which connected wirelessly to the internet, gaining access to messages and services such as weather forecasts. How wow!
7. Swatch loves the arts, and its collaborations with artists and museums are a hallmark of its collections. It all began in 1985, when it collaborated with artist Kiki Picasso, and continues to this day with unique collaborations with museums such as the Musée du Louvre, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the MoMA in New York.
8. In 2020, it launched its entire first collection from 1983, under the signature of mother nature. Made with materials from Mother Nature, of organic origin and biodegradable, they can be recycled or even composted when we decide to dispose of them.
9. Last but not least… Swatch = Second Watch and not Swiss Watch, as many believe for this "diamond" of Swiss watchmaking.
10. If you're wondering what the 3 must-have Swatch watches are that I believe you should have in your collection, they are: one with a transparent dial, so you can see the inner mechanism that I find incredibly interesting, one extremely thin and light, with a rubber strap in a pastel shade, so you can wear it with anything, and of course, one with a statement design from your favorite artist or museum, to wear with more minimal outfits and make a beautiful statement! Although no matter which Swatch watch you choose, it always finds a way to shine!
