Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Sargon takes the mountains!

A few days before the release of another historic Platform game, Prince of Persia, which first appeared in 1989 on DOS, I felt the need to write about what we expect to experience as Gamers.

It is very difficult, or rather... impossible, for a very young person to understand what Prince of Persia means and, in general, to feel what was happening in those times when these games first appeared, at the beginning of this new unknown Gaming world that was slowly but steadily taking shape. I won't continue... I'm already on the verge of sounding like an old man.

I simply repeat that it is a game that, along with a few others, introduced the world of Gaming to humanity.

The new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a standalone game that is independent from the previous series. I emphasize this because there may be the anxiety of "what should I play now, I will have to deal with the whole series for the historical continuity, etc., etc." (which describes my compulsive self).

If you are, I mean if... you are like me, then I sympathize with you first and secondly take a big phew!

History

You take on the role of Sargon, who is also the...  protagonist of the adventure (say you never read it...) and whose mission is to save Prince Ghassan as he appears to have been kidnapped.

The battle of Persia takes place, defending against the Kossanians, and while the odds are against them, the 6 immortals appear who, along with our hero Sargon, manage to win. The battle ends with the spectacular killing of the leader of the Kossanians by Sargon. The immortals are impressed, as is Queen Thomyris, who rewards him.

The hardships do not end here as the kingdom is attacked from within and Prince Ghassan is abducted. Sargon makes a terrifying discovery that his mentor, Anahita, is behind all of this. The immortals and Sargon chase Anahita in the former home of the God of Time, in the Qaf mountain where the game takes place.

As the Immortals split into groups, Sargon remains alone. Strange phenomena occur regarding time as many events seem to have happened many years ago, while for Sargon and the Immortals, everything is recent.

You will discover the continuation of this very interesting story! The only certain thing is that it will captivate you as the game is significantly based on the story. Everything else follows.

Gameplay

The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is based on impressive effects, fast movements, and addictive battles. In addition to the classic sword attacks, there is a plethora of moves and deadly combo combinations that will boost your adrenaline! Special moves that load periodically and turn enemies into dust are also present.

You can choose the difficulty level as well as the general and very important preference of exploration or guidance. If you choose exploration, you will be given fewer instructions and prompts, while if you choose guidance, the game will lead you directly to the points you must go to in order to finish the main story.

During the game, there will be no shortage of equipment and character upgrades as you will be able to buy clothes, items, amulets, and level up your life and power. I guarantee you that the game is not a walk in the park and you will definitely need to make your player a "badass" in order to cope!

The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, according to Ubisoft, will run at 60FPS, increasing the levels of entertainment, and will be released on all platforms, PC / Nintendo Switch / PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series X|S, on January 18th.

Oh! Here's a snapshot of Prince of Persia from 1989! It's light years away, right?

Have fun!
